Our Story

In the early seventies, a young couple set their sights on acquiring seventeen pristine acres of rainforest located on their small island nation. With the dream of creating a secluded retreat in the foothills of the mountain, the Panthiers purchased the land for their family.

Embracing employment opportunities abroad, they relocated their ever-expanding family to a small coastal farming community in Southern California.

Though beset with the challenges of raising a large family, they remained optimistic and instilled the dream in their children. As time passed, the children grew and settled with their own families thousands of miles apart.

Sadly, almost 50 years after purchasing the property, Mrs. Panthier passed away. In mourning her death, it appeared the family resolved to abandon the dream.

As providence would have it, their youngest daughter refused to acquiesce. She encouraged her father to place all their marital assets in a family trust. Inspired by her passion to preserve the family’s legacy, the siblings agreed to join in the endeavor and expanded on the initial vision. They founded a development company, Atakira Atlantic, in part, as an homage to the spirit of enterprise and lifelong commitment to philanthropic engagement instilled in them by their parents.
